[daisy] Book publishing and variables

Hi,
 
I am trying to get variables to work in book publishing. This is what I
have done, following the documentation:
- I have my variable definitions (say 12-DSY, language of the document
is EN)
- I have my book where I add the following book metadata properties:
  > Name: variables.source Value: 12-DSY [documentation says I should
add a variables.source.12-DSY, but this does not make sense to me, I
tried this too, but no joy]
  > Name: variables.resolve-attributes Value: true 
- When publishing my book I select the EN language
- I still do not get my variables resolved.
 
What are the steps to take in order to get variables resolved at book
publishing? Or then, what am I doing wrong here?
