To answer your question: This was not a known issue, but very similar to
the one mentioned by Andreas (in fact the solution was identical).

Generally, Daisy should work regardless of any spaces in the path, but
now and then a minor problem pops up.  Choosing the latest Daisy release
(2.2 as of writing) is generally the best way to avoid encountering
bugs.
This particular problem is now solved, the solution will be integrated
in subsequent releases (Daisy 2.3).  In the mean time, the suggested
workaround should help.
