Documents are always uploaded in Daisy for our case, exactly because of the
different drive mappings and network security rules in place. When i said
that people "refer" to documents the wording was probably a bit off,
"referring" in my context just meant that they want to upload them for use
in a manual.

I quite liked Vincent's comment about just simplifying the way an attachment
can be updated from the editor (reducing the 5 step process). I would even
go a step further : imagine updating an image attachment without leaving the
main document editor window, just by selecting the image first then clicking
the upload image button as usual to upload the new version and be done with
it. Given our "master copy is always outside Daisy" approach this would
already be a tremendous gain.
