[daisy] Basic help for adding a class to daisy

Hello

You might remember me - I am the text writer with a little Javascript
skills.
Can you give a quick hint for me to get started while creating my first
Java program to add to Daisy ?

What I would like to do:
I want to add more custom field validation to a document's fields and
hoped to find a hook to add my own tiny little CFORMs fragments. I did
manage using the guestbook and the mailing list example and Javascript
to create a new document part using input fields with CFORMs and basic
CFORM validations. But to edit and still validate the existing document
part I would rather rely on the Daisy WIKI's handling of document
access. loading, locking, saving.

As I see, we can add fieldeitors and parteditors (for text/xml). But I
see that I need to implement a Java class to become a "happy editor". I
think I could manage extending the sample program for the Plaintext
editor, but I am not sure about how to integrate the new part editor
class into Daisy. The same applies to my attempt to implement a custom
field editor.

My question is:
Do I still need to build Daisy system anew in order to add my "JAR" to
the daisy or can I just "drop" the JAR into Cocoon and then reference
from daisy?

My references are:

Thank you for your attention
