There is no point describing it simpler than described in the documentation,
it would not help giving you step by step instructions without 
explaining what
they actually do.

Basically, skinning is done through xslt and css.

Just read the documentation.  We put it there to avoid having to repeat 
the same information on the mailing list over and over again (amongst 
other things).
