[daisy] Search & accented characters

Hi,

we're running the 2.1 binary version of Daisy. When doing a fulltext 
search with accented characters we get the following error:
Received exception from repository server.
Error performing query.
Error parsing query.
Cannot parse '?ectron': '*' or '?' not allowed as first character in 
WildcardQuery

I assume that is the same problem discussed here:

The description of the solution is somewhat vague. My question is: is 
there an easy way to correct this without having to rebuild Daisy from the 
trunk or migrate to the upcoming 2.2 release?
