[daisy] The magical exploding numbered list

Is this a known issue?

Situation: user is editing a Daisy document that contains multiple
list types, including embedded lists, interrupted lists, graphics,
etc. In the process of using the numbered list continuation feature,
adding list items, switching between html and wysiwyg, and adjusting
formats the user sees a script error and suddenly has a page up to
50,000 lines long, mainly consisting of a series of sets of empty
levels of embedded list tags, each with twice as many embedded lists
as the previous set. These appear to keep propagating until the
browser hangs. (That may actually be the point at which the script
error appears.)

If anyone has seen this or knows what might cause it, any advice would
be much appreciated!
