Your question is a little confusing because you mention "get at the raw HTML" so I am not sure what you want to do exactly.
To create a new version of a document based on a previous version do the following:
1. Go to the current live document in the browser
2. Under the actions menu select versions
3. For the version you want to use as the basis for the new document click "Revert to this"
4. This will open up the selected version in the document editor. You can edit and save the document from here.
If you only wish to view the older version, in number 3 above click on the version number instead of the revert to this link and you browse to the selected version of the document.

Subject: [daisy] Getting at older content after new version created
Hello,
We have run into a scenario where we would like to be able to get at the content of a previous version of a document so that we can use that as the basis for a new version. We have not found a way to get at the raw HTML, because we can edit an older document. Is there a way to get at the content at least to view it in an older version of a document?
Thanks,
Shon
