I ran into this issue using the standalone version of the installer:
I started the installation, downloaded and installed MySQL and continued with the installation afterwards:
This resulted in "JAVA_Home not set!"
Reason (most likely): at the time when the daisy installer started, JAVA_HOME was not set, and the installer didn't pick up the addition of the JAVA_HOME environment variable by the MySQL installer.
I ran the installer again, and this time, everything was fine.
