indeed.

anyway you're probably right on the accounts created by spammers 
(probably unlikely for automated spam bots to be mail-confirmation stuff).

So our involved steps to authorship are really more blocking the manual 
registration peeps that are out to deface wiki's here and there (we used 
to have a lot of those on the cocoon wiki before requiring regsitration)

It still seems somewhat logic to me that people join the 
mailing-list/discussion area and only later step onto collaborating on 
the wiki.
(Joining the club, talking, announcing ideas go before starting to paint 
the clubhouse, right?)
