[daisy] Full text search does not work with russian characters

When I enter a russian search string in full-text search box (for example
тест ), the following error occurs:

 

Received exception from repository server.
Error performing query.
Error parsing query.
Cannot parse '????': '*' or '?' not allowed as first character in
WildcardQuery

 

This behavior can be observed on daisy home page too (
http://cocoondev.org/daisy/search?query=%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82 )

 

Tried with Opera and Firefox
