[daisy] can I pass credentials to Daisy transparently?

I have a requirement to link from a client's Web site into a
password-protected area of a Daisy site using the same credentials on both
sites, so that the user who has logged on to the original site does not have
to log on again to Daisy. I believe this can be done using simple
authentication with the user name and password in the url, but the
requirement is to do this in a way such that the user name and password are
not visible to the user.  Does anyone know a way to do this so the user name
and password are not visible to the user? Any tips are much appreciated!
