[daisy] Installation hangs

Folks,

I've installed Daisy a few times on different machines, but this error 
perplexes me:

1) I dutifully installed JVM 1.5.0, MySQL 5.0.27, set DAISY_HOME, run 
the commands creating the database in MySQL.
2) I executed ./daisy-repository-init
3) The script asks me for the usual things (default values for all), but...
4) ...the script hangs after I enter login/password of the initial Daisy 
user.
5) If I hit Ctrl+C, I see:
                                   Ready to go
                                   ===========

The database will now be created, continue? [default = yes] :
6) ..and then the script exits.

Any clue ?
