What Bruno wants to say is that the whole database independence thing  
isn't something which is easily tackled on a case-by-case basis, but  
should be done comprehensively.

Also, we are worried about on-going support and testing against  
"officially supported" databases. As long as we don't have people  
persistently committing time in testing Daisy against those  
databases, and tracking development in this regard, we shouldn't  
provide users with false promises like: "Daisy runs against DB2, as  
long as you take Daisy SVN revision XYZ against which Aaron provided  
patches. If you want Daisy trunk (or 2.0 final, for that matter) to  
run against DB2, you'll have to do your own testing."
