The upgrade to 2.0 is getting quite involved (many steps to perform), and besides we have the Windows installer which should also provide an upgrade path, therefore I think we need to consider the development of a tool which can perform the upgrade steps.

Some initial thoughts on this:

- I'd only consider the basic installation scenario (repo and wiki on one machine)
- the tool should be very safe and work defensively
      - maintain log of what is done
      - make work performed by tool correspond to manual upgrade instructions, so that in case of problems people can figure out how to continue
      - maintain backups of modified files
- both interactive command line and automated work scenarios (for integration with i.e. Windows installer)
