Greetings!
New here. First, thank you for great Daisy, comprehensive documentation,
WYSIWYG implementation, just to mention few of my highlights. I went
through manual, mailing list. With no experience in java and cocoon,
some questions remain. Here is one.
Editing
-------
Is there a way, at least potentially, to edit several parts and fields
of one document simultaneously? Taking the example from the manual:
suppose we have a document type consisting of a part "Abstract" and a
part "Main Content".
"Main Content" is already written. While writing "Abstract" I want to
see the "Main Content" also. "See" means it is on one page where user
can easily scroll there and back. Some fields of the same document on
the same page would also be handy.
One can change the tab to see the other parts or fields, but from the
user perspective it is a different page. I can imagine this is the
meaningful UI design, but what is your admin experience? Don't users
complain in such occasions?
There was a similar mailing list discussion on editing two language
variants simultaneously, which I can't find now. While translating the
document you have both language variants on one page. You see the
original text, you are translating, occasionally you see the typo in the
original and you easily repair it.
To illustrate the idea I attach the screenshot of editing xwiki blog
form. Two parts and one field included. (If it doesn't get to the
mailing list here it is: http://web.iol.cz/kula/xwiki.png).
I do understand you can *diaplay* parts and fields of one DocumentType
as you like, but can one *edit* them as he like?
Index Improvement
-----------------
One idea for future improvement. I was delighted at possibility to index
documents. This is implemented as class attribute. Meaningful index has
to have possibility to edit indexed terms independently of the main
text. In many languages indexed terms are in diffferent forms than in
the text, at least there are multiple-word terms with changed form in
index compared to main text even in English.
Thanks
