There's probably some component in Cocoon that listens to port 8079.
Maybe in the cocoon log files you can see a stacktrace that gives more
information (wiki logs are in <wikidata dir>/logs/cocoon.log).
Are you using our default Cocoon configuration or have you build Daisy
yourself and enabled additional blocks?

Since each repository server contains an independent ActiveMQ instance,
they should each have their own database.

Nope, this shouldn't be needed.
