[daisy] Upgrade Daisy from 1.1.0 to 1.5

Hello everyone,
we have an older Daisy installation 1.1.0 which works fine. It runs on a
Windows Server 2003 operative system, managing support documentation.
However, we'd very much like to upgrade it to a current version, as for
instance version 1.5, in order to benefit from all new functionality.
And of course, at the same time keep all the data from the older
installation.
The main question is how to go about this? As we understand there are
instructions for upgrading from 1.1 to 1.2, 1.2 to 1.3, 1.3 to 1.4, and
finally 1.4 to 1.5. Are there built releases to download for this
procedure, or do we have to build our own from tagged sources first? Do
we need to follow the steps over versions outlined above, or are there
any shortcut(s)? What is best practice on a problem like this, and/or
recommendation?
We have Linux as well as Windows-based workstations at our disposal for
testing and building.
Thankful for any input,
