I'm just getting up to speed on the options for generating OOo writer 
docs, but with what i know right now, it seems to be a fairly daunting 
task.  While it sounds like there are a number of folks interested in 
building an ODF FOP output processor, it doesn't look like that will be 
forthcoming any time soon.  Obviously being XML, it would seem some XSLT 
magic could get you to an ODF document directly, but the spec is 722 
pages long, and i have a hard enough time making html skins work. :)

OOo can read docbook, i wonder if that might be a reasonable 
intermediate form.
