The document editor of the Daisy Wiki currently supports implementing custom part editors. The same could be done for fields. A lot of the required infrastructure is already in place. Some items that remain to be done are:

 - some mechanism/factory for configuring custom field editors
 - possibility to communicate between field editors:
          - value changed listeners
          - getting/setting value of other field editors
 - maybe some way to have required CSS/js/... files referenced only once in the generated field form
 - support for CForms-ajax
