I'm looking for any recommendations about how we might build a
new/modified Search results page to fit our repository and users. For
example we'd like users to be able to search on a group of collections but
not all collections; exclude "non-content" documents such as images
embedded in other documents; apply field-based filters. These are all
things we can do very nicely in the query language. I'm looking for
advice about whether/how we can provide a new Search UI within the Daisy
Wiki structure, and the best way to approach that (an extension?) We have
some technical knowledge but no deep Cocoon expertise. It would be nice
to modify/extend from an existing page if possible rather than start from
scratch.
Thanks for any advice!
PS -- I'm happy to nominate Daisy for a CMS award (and just did). My
reason was that, in my opinion, it provides the best combination of vision
and practical implementation that I've seen. I like the 'one-bucket'
repository vs wiki separation, the elegance of both the CMS model and the
implementation, the Apache/MySQL foundation, and the overall combination
of ease of use and scalability. Thank you.
