I still have to convince management for using Daisy. So, I need help from you. I have few questions. It will be really great if any of you can answer or redirect me to some URL where I can find the answers.

cool

we haven't got any complaints in this respect over the past 3-4 years
it's been running here and there
of course setups under expected high load might well require special
precautions, I'm sure we could advise
I vaguely remember people doing load tests in the past, maybe you could
check the archives for their results?
Anyway, you got me curious.
Can you share the expected numbers you are facing?
And while at it: which alternatives are you considering?
> 2. Is clustering possible with Daisy?
no, not currently
In terms of fail-over-assurance I think we spent more time in robustness
which should pay off more in the long run (also for users that don't
need to buy extra hardware just to guarantee operations)
In terms of load, see above.
In terms of management-ease, sigh, you got us.
> 3. Is there a export/import mechanism available in Daisy?
http://cocoondev.org/daisydocs-2_0/impexp/333.html
status: ready for testing, and bug-reports welcome, expect minor changes
(and some fixes) from here on
Note: the 2.0 documentation is currently not directly accessible from
the home-page
- that will change when the upcoming 1.5 release shifts the meaning and
thus the links behind the 'old'-'current'-'dev' documentation sets
- for now you just grab one of the doc sets and use the 'variants' link
to select the 2.0 one
general availability of import-export will be with the 2.0 release, no
dates yet, but yes, we take bribes
> 4. Is there a performance comparison document available for daisy against any other CMS?
not to my knowledge, if you find any, don't be shy to post them over here
> 5. Is collection an alternative to folders?
>
no, the coupling between documents and collections is more loose then
that between files and folders (there is no 'containment')
- documents all go into this one big repository, and can be assigned to
multiple collections at the same time (try that with a file/folder huh)
- you can drop collections and still find all your documents in the
repository
By design our repository has this 'no hierarchy store' which makes it
actually a perfect 'multi-hierarchy repository'
The vision is this:
- Taxonomy is always an after-though.
- If you make it part of you storage-model, then the fact that those
after-thoughts will change over time will inflict pain.
